Senior Events and Trips

Our Year 12 Biology students are having a great time in Cranedale, Yorkshire. Yesterday they were looking at the humane traps that they set out the previous night and discussed the positives and negatives of each trap as well as any ethical considerations associated with the traps.

They visited Filey Brig to sample the distribution of four different species on the rocky shore. As you can see, they found some crabs.

They also visited an intensive pig farm. The girls weighed pig faeces to estimate the proportion of energy lost as waste.
