It was wonderful to see so many new girls in AESG today as they attended the Year 7 Transition Day. The new pupils joined our current Year 6s for a fantastic day, jam-packed with exciting activities that aim to break the ice and form new friendships as well as showing them all the wonderful things we offer here at AESG.
The day included a range of exciting and challenging workshops, such as making a fire extinguisher in Science. In a #BeMe! workshop, the girls cut words out of magazines to create posters for the classrooms which dis-played how they would like their class to be. They included words such as friendship, happiness and you’ve got a friend in me!
The girls also enjoyed a Growth Mindset workshop, a Treasure Hunt, our Language Leaders taught a language class and the girls met their Year 12 mentors who will be like Big Sisters to them when they join and be there as someone to support them.
