On Wednesday 8th June a team of Year 9 and 10 athletes attended the North West Final of the English Schools Athletics Track & Field Cup. The team qualified for this after winning the Cheshire round in May. This is the first time an AESG athletics team has qualified for the North West Final.
The girls performed brilliantly as a team. There were individual wins for Martha R in the 200m, Elizabeth S in the 800m, Seren R in hurdles and long jump, and a brilliant win for the relay team. Overall the team finished in an incredible second place. This is a huge achievement for our athletes and we are very proud of them.
