Alderley Edge School for Girls Lower Sixth has won the National Independent Schools Bar Mock Trial Competition.

The Mock Trial, which took place on Tuesday 28th June saw the students prepare for a trial and play the roles of both prosecution barristers, defence barristers as well as roles in the court.

The students were provided with specially written criminal cases, to help them prepare legal arguments. They then went head to head with Westminster School, Putney High School for Girls, St George’s Ascot and other schools from throughout the UK to prosecute and defend the cases.

The students delivery and ability to hold their defence was phenomenal – each case was executed with confidence, outstanding oratory skills and professionalism.

We are absolutely delighted to win and to provide our students, many of whom wish to study law at University, with a platform to experience the legal system.

Alderley Edge School for Girls provides an outstanding pathway into the legal profession with students taking up Law Degrees at top Universities including Oxford and Cambridge.
